EMBODIMENT
The mind is only half of what it means to have consciousness, to be alive and to flourish. My work is dedicated to the other half: the emerging science, psychology, and social context of embodiment.
Most of us are familiar with the five major senses that help us process the world around us: sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch. Yet we have subtle inner senses, too, which help us perceive the world inside us in relation to the outer world. These inner senses improve every area of our lives, from disease-causing inflammation to chronic pain, from anxiety and depression to gut health, from healthier relationships to a deeper experience of social justice. Even better, the benefits result not from any aspect of our physicality—size, shape, weight, level of conditioning, or ability—but from the inner life of the body and the connection we have with its intelligence.
In my premium online course, Masterclasses, and live trainings, we cover the emerging science of embodiment and its practical applications to a variety of important topics in health and well-being, including anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, sleep, mindful movement, and much more.

Meaning isn't something
we have to search for-
it's been inside us all along.
Background + Expertise
My career began over 25 years ago as a psychologist, when the body was not considered a key element in personal or collective change. I worked in psychiatric hospitals with people suffering from anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and self-injury. I had a successful outpatient psychotherapy practice. I trained in biopsychology, sleep research, and stress management.
I became a passionate advocate of embodiment when I witnessed its healing power. Today, I help entrepreneurs, coaches, teachers, visionaries and companies on the front lines of change nurture sustainable productivity, resilience, and well-being in the people they work with.
My work integrates science, psychology, movement studies, connective tissue research, contemplative practice, and social and gender justice.
