On Belonging
A Webcast with Sebene Selassie
September 9, 2020
1:00 p.m. EST, U.S. time

We are not one, but we are also not separate.

We are not separate, and yet we are not the same.

Beloved meditation expert Sebene Selassie offers strong medicine for these challenging and transformative times. She joins us for a webcast (imagine if a webinar and a podcast had a baby) to discuss the principles and practices embedded in her new book, You Belong: A Call for Connection.

From emerging multidisciplinary research to ancient philosophy, and through exquisite storytelling and razor-sharp insight and wit, Sebene will discuss the ways we are separate (and how our separation leads to suffering) and offer us a road map to belonging.

Among the wide range of topics we address will include:

  • Sebene’s finely-tuned understanding of non-binary and nuance (this is one of her talismanic powers)

  • The upside to being on the margins vs. being in the center, and why it’s so important now

  • How to acknowledge and address our shadow aspects in this time of racial reckoning, and how doing so is essential to belonging

  • The alchemy of the erotic

  • What the body (and embodiment) have to do with belonging
